Not for casual gamers I admit, but then Tuna Snax is all about having games like this too.

You race along futuristic twisting and turning tracks, playing your own MP3 soundtrack, and get blown away by the startling visuals. If it's too hard, you even get to slow it down!

There's absolutely tons to do in this game, with several game modes, 2 player mode (when you complete arcade mode stage 1, frustratingly), awards, tests, etc!

The premise is simple - you are a bug eyed blob and you've got to make it to the end of the track.

The execution is somewhat more complex... Chromadrome 2 is one of those games that you will come back to and think How did I EVER manage to get this far?!?! Although, the nifty speed setting option helps you get back into the (very fast!) swing of things again without too many frustrating re-tries.

A definite plus point and great piece of innovation in my opinion, is the fact that you can pick your own MP3s as the soundtrack to the game. Ideal for picking the perfect Prodigy or Streisand tune to really get your adrenalin pumping.

All in all, Chromadrome 2 is a (very) fast paced, many facetted, great looking, great sounding action racer with lots of additional game features that will guarantee you have plenty of challenges for much longer than you would expect on a game of this size.

Chromadrome 2 takes the old 8-bit classic Trailblazer, gives it a massive psychadellic makeover that Jeff Minter himself would be proud off, gives it an injection of speed to rival Lewis Hamilton and then adds an MP3 player to boot!!

Throw in some twisty, stomach-churning levels, stunning visuals, levels that are so blindingly fast that you'll need lightning quick reactions and you've got one hell of a game that you wont want to put down.... just make you sure don't play on a full stomach!!

If, like me, you grew up in the 80s playing computer games, you'll no doubt remember Trailblazer, an 8-bit classic in which the aim was to guide your ball along a race track suspended in space, avoiding holes and other obstacles, as you streaked to the finish line. I really liked that game - and that is why I am thankful that someone has created Chromadrome 2.

This game is the cat's pyjamas; simple to play, looks fantastic, and you can use your own mp3s as the soundtrack. The premise is simple - roll your ball along high-speed racetracks, avoiding little creatures with big eyes (or, better still, blasting them out of the way) and making sure you don't fall off the sides, or down holes. Sounds simple? It is. Easy it ain't, though.

It's one of those games that's just as much fun to watch as it is to play, with its trippy skyline which reacts to the music, and the speed at which it moves. The game draws you in with a tutorial, and before you know it, you'll be navigating through loop the loops, round chicanes and over ramps like a good 'un. Then the fun begins, as you try to work your way through the many levels.

Worth a download if you're a retro gamer, or into more modern stuff - this is that all too rare breed of game that makes a pretty good fist of being all things to all men.
